In Miami, Fla. over the weekend to shoot a commercial for one of his sponsors, veteran middleweight Phil Baroni spent Sunday evening in jail following an incident outside a South Beach restaurant.

Baroni was released on $5,000 bond and is scheduled to be arraigned April 30 on one felony count of threatening a police officer and misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and resisting officers without violence, according to records on the Miami-Dade County Web Site.

"Phil was with only his girlfriend at that time and engaged in an altercation with multiple assailants," said Baroni's agent Ken Pavia. "When all the facts come out I think you will find that Phil was reasonably justified in his actions."

The middleweight has not fought since Oct. 2006 when he appeared on the first PRIDE U.S. card. He was supposed to fight Frank Shamrock in April, but after Shamrock signed to fight Renzo Gracie on Showtime their Strikeforce bout was delayed.

Sunday's incident in Miami will not endanger Baroni's June 22 fight with Shamrock, affirmed Pavia, who hired well known criminal defense attorney Paul Petruzzi to

hahaha Baroni eh. I like Phil Baroni even though he is a cocky bastard I still engoy watching his fights he swings to take your head off and i like that!

LOOKS LIKE HES AT IT AGAIN!!

"Just a heads up that Saturday night/Sunday Morning in Huntington Beach, Phil Baroni and Josh Burkman came to blows after a night of drinking. Burkman may have grabbed Baroni's girls ass. Burkman's brother jumped in and Tito jumped on him and choked him out. The whole thing was out of control."

We couldn't run the story bcased on eyenitness accounts so we contact Burkman for comment. Here was his response:

"I think Phil is whacked out bro," said Burkman. "We were dancing up by the table with about 25 people in the same area... I got bumped into his girlfriend i guess... phil tapped me on the sholder and asked if I grabbed his girlfriends ass... I said no i got bumped into her. Then he tapped me again, i said no... then he did it a 3rd time and I told him not to touch me again... then he raged and tried to smack me over his agent Ken Pavia... then he got hit about 10 times!!... I thought it was over, and while i was telling Tito what happened Phil popped up from behind me like a jack in the box and blindsided me!... what a chump! next thing I know my brother was beating his ass, then tito grabbed my brother and I got in a couple more shots!... lol!!! that the jist of it, Phil needs to relax he's a little nuts. Anyways outside I tried to apologize to him and shake his hand but he faked the handshake and tried to hit me again... He was to slow! haha, I guess he's not over it!."
